2024 Season Registration is Open

Track & Field Registration Information

WHO: Athletes ages 7-16
WHAT: 2024 Cherokee Youth Track & Field Season
WHY: We want you to be a part of our Cherokee Jr Track team
ATHLETE LIMITS: We have a limit on the amount of 8U and 9/10 athletes we can enroll. If you go to register and an age group is full, please click here to join the waiting list. We look forward to trying to accommodate all interested athletes.
COST: $165 Registration Fee  
UNIFORM: $45 Jersey / $45 Shorts*  Jersey purchase is mandatory for all athletes that do not have the current uniform (shorts are optional).

Practice Information

First official day of practice is Tuesday, March 12, 2024

Normal Practice Schedule

Ages 10u
  • Monday: 5:30-6:30pm Boling Park Conditioning
  • Tuesday: 5:30-7:00 Boling Park/CHS Track
  • Wednesday: 5:30-6:30 Boling/Track Field Event *First Day of Practice: Tuesday, March 12
 
Ages 11-18
  • Monday: 6:30-7:30pm Boling Park Conditioning
  • Wednesday: 6:30-7:30 Track Field Event Focus
  • Thursday: 5:30-7:30 Boling Park/CHS Track *First Day of Practice: Wednesday, March 13

 

What to bring to practice: Water bottle, running shoes and a positive attitude
*Appropriate running attire would include athletic shorts, t-shirt and running shoes

Other suggestions: Use the restroom before practice and always keep toenails clipped

Rain: When it is raining we will not practice. We will inform you via email/Remind of canceled practices.

  • April 20 – Sequoyah HS hosted by Sequoyah Youth Track
  • April 27 – Creekview HS hosted by Creekview/Cherokee   *We will Co-Host this track meet w/ Creekview YTC
  • May 04 – Etowah HS hosted by Etowah Youth Track
  • May 18- Walton Pope Meet (Tentative/TBD)

 

Junior Olympic Meet Schedule *Optional Postseason*

  • June 1 USATF GA Assoc Developmental Location TBD

  • June 20-23 USATF GA Assoc JO Championship Morrow HS, Ellenwood, GA

  • July 4-7 USATF Region 4 JO Championship Morrow HS, Ellenwood, GA

  • July 22-28 USATF National JO Championship Texas A&M, College Station, TX

*Youth competitions take place in two-year age divisions. These age divisions provide young athletes the opportunity to compete with other athletes of similar ability. The Age Division is determined by the athletes’ age as of 12/31/2024. This is also referred to as their “Race Age”.
