2026 Track & Field Evaluation

2026 Season Evaluation & Onboarding Sessions

For the 2026 season, we’re doing things a little differently—with one clear goal: creating the best possible experience for every athlete.

Rather than a traditional tryout, we’re starting the season by getting to know each athlete and family personally. During the first two weeks of February (with additional sessions available later in the month by request), we’ll be hosting evaluation and onboarding sessions designed to introduce athletes to our program while allowing our coaches to understand each athlete’s strengths, experience level, and goals.

These sessions give your athlete the opportunity to experience our coaching, training style, and team culture—while allowing us to make thoughtful recommendations on how they can best be incorporated into the program. Track & field is a sport where athletes of all backgrounds can grow, and our goal is to help each athlete get the most out of themselves.

If the fit is right, we’ll guide your family through registration and next steps for competing with Cherokee Youth Track during the 2026 season.

PLEASE NOTE: This is only for new athletes only Existing athletes do not need to fill out this form.

Session Dates & Times

Season Information

Cherokee Youth Track supports athletes across all major track & field disciplines. During our evaluation and onboarding sessions, athletes may be introduced to one or more of the following event groups based on interest, age, and experience:

  • Distance – middle- and long-distance events focused on aerobic development, pacing, and race strategy
  • Sprints – short-distance races emphasizing speed, power, acceleration, and mechanics
  • Jumps – events such as long jump and high jump, focusing on coordination, technique, and explosiveness
  • Throws – shot put and other throwing events, emphasizing strength, form, and safe progression

Our goal is not to limit athletes to a single event early, but to help them discover where they can grow and succeed. Track & field offers multiple pathways, and we work to place athletes in events that best match their abilities and long-term development.
